Why Is It So Hard For Women To Accept Help?

In today’s world, women have incredible professional opportunities, yet many of us still carry the outdated expectation to be Martha Stewart-level homemakers and caregivers. We’re supposed to smash glass ceilings at work and then come home and bake gluten-free cupcakes—all while looking effortlessly put together.
Like many women, I hold a demanding job and have kids, and yet I catch myself thinking, “Should I be making those adorable bento box lunches with animal-shaped sandwiches?” Spoiler alert: I don’t. Most days, I’m lucky if I remember to pack them a bagel!
If we’re lucky enough to have a partner willing to help, we still carry the mental load of being the Household Project Manager. As that manager, we assess what tasks need doing, assign some to our partner, and follow up to ensure they’re completed to standard. So even with help, we’re dedicating time and brain space to overseeing our home, not to mention completing our own share of tasks. That’s time and energy we’re not putting toward our careers or our families.
Now, consider this: would you expect an executive to book their own meetings, arrange travel, or track down mundane details? Of course not. They’re expected to focus where they bring the most value to their company.
Here’s the truth: your value to your family is not measured by your ability to check every single item off a to-do list. Wearing all these different hats means we need to be ruthless about outsourcing the things that consume our time without bringing true value
That’s exactly why I designed Summit Life Management. Our personal assistant services help you manage your to-do list, run errands, and complete mundane tasks that eat up your precious time.
Overwhelm, stress, and exhaustion don’t need to be badges of honor. They’re signs it’s time to reclaim your time. Let us help lighten the mental load—call Summit Life Management today.
